Crazy?!?

So, I start my new "real" job in 2 weeks. It's a little crazy to think about it. Even crazier when I realize I gave up my housing arrangements yesterday so now I have no idea where I will live. Maybe I've gone crazy.... But I think God will provide something.

My Advice to All Brothers with Sisters

The more time I spend getting to know other girls and myself more, the more I realize how "loud" the voice of our family is in our mind and our view of ourselves. If our fathers, mothers or brothers (maybe sisters too, but at the moment I can't think of an example of a sister doing so) tell us we can't do something, we believe them. If they tease us about something, we believe them. Honestly, I dislike joking about things using sarcasm pretty much all the time, but I think it's even more important that we don't do this with the girls in our families. Anyway, as I've contemplated this, I've decided that all brothers with sisters need to tell their sister she's beautiful. If she has the praise of the men in her family, she won't be as likely to look for it in other places. As females I think we tend to be very self conscious anyway, but I think that not hearing words of affirmation from our brothers or fathers or even worse, hearing teasing remarks from them, will make it worse. So guys, if you have a sister, tell her how beautiful she is!

I have a Real Job!

On July 6th I will begin a "real" job working as a receptionist/data specialist for the Kentucky WMU (Woman's Missionary Union). I'm super excited about this!!! Pray that as I finish camp and prepare to move and start a new job that things will go smoothly! Praise God for this job! I can't wait!!!

Copyright Laws

Yesterday I was trying to look up the copyright laws on using music in a video I'm making of camp. I was so sad to learn that I cannot do it! I'd like to learn how you get the rights to use parts of a song in a video, but I don't know where to begin. I think the music can really make the video complete. I've also wondered how I can showcase the praise band when I can't play the music they sing since someone else wrote it without permission. Next step: figure out how to get permission!

I also learned a lot of other things that are illegal. It was surprising. There are so many things that are illegal! It's crazy! If you're a future lawyer, you can Read the laws here or for the rest of us, you can get a better understanding by reading this site. It was much more helpful and easier to understand. Well, back to "work."
